How do I use the i-Ready Diagnostic as a student growth measure?
After students complete their baseline Diagnostic each year, i-Ready generates two growth measures for each student. You can use these measures to understand how much growth is recommended to put students on a path toward proficiency and how they are growing compared to students who started at the same Diagnostic placement. Download this PDF for a brief overview of the i-Ready growth model or this PDF for a deeper dive into using the Diagnostic as a student growth measure.
How can leaders monitor Personalized Instruction?
By monitoring Online Instruction, leaders are better equipped to analyze and act on data. Leaders should review the Lesson Time-on-Task weekly average and lesson pass rate at the district/school level and Lesson Time-on-Task and Percent of Lessons Passed at the class level. Review the Online Instruction Action Plan for Leaders for more information.
How should I talk to students and families about their Diagnostic reports?
It is best to discuss each student’s grade level placement, domain-specific information, and growth using the student report and family report. We encourage you to share these reports with students and families using both the Student Data Chat and Family Data Chat protocols guides. Providing students and families the opportunity to discuss goals and progress strengthens will not only help you individualize instruction in your classroom, but also develop relationships and trust with your students and their families.
