Lesson-Level Practice Opportunities

Practice is needed to build conceptual understanding and match the rigorous expectations of the standards. i-Ready Classroom Mathematics offers numerous print and digital practice opportunities during the lesson to ensure students are applying vocabulary, strategies, and procedures flexibly in context during each session.

Apply It Activities (Grades K and 1)
Apply It Problems (Grades 2–8)
During the Try–Discuss–Connect framework, students apply their learning to new problems. This helps them deepen their understanding, build flexibility in their thinking, and better retain what they have learned.

Additional Practice
The green pages in the Student Worktext can be used flexibly, either in class or at home. These pages solidify students’ conceptual understanding, build procedural fluency from that understanding, and ask students to apply ideas from the lesson to answer critical-thinking questions and new problems.

Refine Sessions
The final day(s) in the i-Ready Classroom Mathematics multiple-day lesson structure strengthens and extends learning from the lesson. Differentiated instruction and problem sets refine, reinforce, and solidify learning.

Fluency and Skills Practice
This optional targeted practice aligned to each lesson uses patterns and repeated reasoning to build mathematical skills. Available as a student workbook or as PDFs on the Teacher Digital Experience.

Reinforce students’ learning in an engaging, novel way. These enjoyable games prepare students for assessments, build crucial study skills that are useful across subjects, and help students retain their knowledge longer.

Cumulative Practice
