In Session 1, fully scripted instructional routines are used to introduce new skills in phonological awareness, phonics, and high-frequency words.
Phonological awareness instruction is followed by explicit instruction in phonics and high-frequency words.
Purposeful practice in the Student Worktext allows students to immediately apply what they have learned.
