About the skills progression:
Level B builds on the single-letter vowel sounds studied in Level A.
At this level, students focus on learning how two vowels side by side represent one sound before progressing to learn how vowels and silent e separated by a consonant can represent one sound.
The level culminates with a study of r-controlled vowels.
*The Phonemic Awareness routine in Level B is found in the first half of the level.

LOOK AHEAD:Irregular words are included throughout the level to provide practice in recognizing exceptions and applying a partial decoding strategy to letters that have regular sound spellings
Level B lessons feature a single decodable text with three connected parts. Texts increase in difficulty across the level, mirroring the skill progression.Students complete written and oral comprehension questions with sentence stems to support them in making meaning.
